The mission of the FZE Library is to create an environment where all students and staff are empowered to learn and grow in the digital age while upholding the values of equity, engagement, and exploration.

The FZE Library program is based on a student-centered philosophy of growth and discovery. Students are empowered to construct new knowledge, create, share, and collaborate with others using ethical and innovative practices. The FZE Library respects the diversity of its population by providing a safe space for all and a collection featuring print and digital books that provide mirrors for seeing themselves and windows for understanding experiences different from their own. The FZE Library is guided by the following values:

Equity

We provide students with what they need, when they need it. We ensure that diverse perspectives are an integral part of the program.

Engage

Opportunities are available for engaging in inquiry-based processes.

Explore

Curiosity and innovation are celebrated.

Everyone

The library is for all!

Fort Zumwalt Libraries Vision
We teach students the skills necessary to succeed in the digital age through the robust library curriculum which includes objectives focused on a love of reading, digital citizenship, information literacy, and technology.  We ensure quality resources are available through both physical and virtual means, allowing for the library to be a 24/7 hub of learning. The mission of the Fort Zumwalt school library is to foster an environment in which all students have the tools and skills necessary to prepare for an ever-changing future.

The Fort Zumwalt School District libraries serve as a point of access to information and ideas for students as they acquire critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to participate in our democracy. Every student regardless of race, color, sex, national origin, ethnicity, disability, religion, sexual orientation, shall be given equal access to library resources.
